KZN Philharmonic Orchestra Summer Season featuring Konstantin Soukhovetski(soloist) and Omri Hadari(conductor) at Durban City Hall.

Winner of Juilliard's 2003 Gina Bachauer Competition and Second Prize at the 2004 UNISA International Piano Competition in Pretoria, Konstantin Soukhovetski is rapidly earning a reputation as a young pianist who captivates with his distinctive lyricism and immaculate technique. His 2007 tour to South Africa included 14 performances around the country.

Soukhevetski performs Rachmaninov's monumental Piano Concerto No.3, a work both loved and feared by pianists. The work was featured in Shine, a 1996 Academy Award-winning film about a pianist's struggle to learn and perform what is known as the most challenging of piano concertos, 'Rach 3'. The Scandinavian composer Sibelius' uplifting Symphony No.2 closes the evening's programme.
