Swingers of the Restaurant Scene: I Am Sterdam
The primary reason for the swing is that the famous diner closed down, ending a great social scene and a night spot that provided a platform for the rock subculture scene to be showcased and promoted. It also came at the unfortunate passing of Deluxe Burger Bar owner 'Dillon the Great'.

Fortunately, Mother Nature and the great gods watching over the night life scene worked their magical powers and allowed for great positivity to be born out of such unfortunate circumstance.
So Deluxe Burger Bar now occupies the premises previously occupied by Thunderroad and I Am Sterdam fills the space left by Deluxe Burger Bar.
I Am Sterdam is an experience that's proud and solid. I'd almost call it bullet-proof given the confidence that it expels. It is so amazing when an entrepreneur has the ability to not only re-establish an identity but to also invent an entirely new brand which has the authority to overtake its predecessor. And we all know that filling the shoes of a legendary place like Thunderroad Rock Diner is a feat most challenging.

The owner, Laurence Dinsdale, has managed to bring a nostalgic kind of excitement to the already prominent strip of night life on Davenport Road in Glenwood. I'd pretend to be formal and tell you the address, but it would be close to impossible to miss I Am Sterdam with its rooted orange stature and contemporary exterior.
Its interior is a breath of fresh air and has an open plan arrangement with clean and precise finishes. Less is more and this pub and grill has tastefully executed a simplistic décor arrangement.
As guests, we were greeted by an electric display of colors and lights and enjoyed a complementary dinner, while being entertained by live music (in true Thunder fashion) by Fez, Chi Chi and Victor with guest vocalist Maya Spector.
If you are looking for a night out of good food, snappy service, excellent live music and a jol of a good time, then be sure to visit I Am Sterdam soon! Catch the first official band performance this June.
