Pen to Paper
Unbeknownst to most, a drawing session
which has been named "Pen to Paper", is held at Bean Bag Bohemia (BBB) on
Lilian Ngoyi (Windermere) Road every Saturday. The event started over the world
cup period and was inspired by "Night of a Thousand Drawings" (Cape Town and
Johannesburg). Now in Durban, it's here to keep the creative juices of locals
flowing, and to help a good cause.
The sessions are held every Saturday
from 13:00 to 17:00. The idea is for hoards of creatives and non creatives to attend
the session, socialize, network, and generally have a good time. Unfortunately,
the turnout recently has not been what it should be, and I'm hoping that by
sharing this, it will encourage people from all walks of life to donate an hour
of their time to this fun-filled afternoon. When you place your "pen to paper",
your artwork, whatever it may be, is then donated to the walls of BBB and if
sold a "portion of the sales will go towards the KZN Human Trafficking Prostitution
Brothels and Pornography Task
Attending sessions myself I've
discovered it's great fun where you are able to get together and converse with
like-minded individuals, maybe learn something new from a fellow Durbanite, and
do your bit for society.
And so I would like to implore all to
attend a session or two or three, tell your friends, and please to join the
group on
Everybody go out there and make your
mark!
