Perched up at the top of a brick building in the semi-industrial part of lower Morningside, Burn is literally a beacon of hard rock on dark nights. This sprawling club fills two stories and has three bars, including the Hunter's Bar on their famous open-air rooftop patio, along with a large stage for live music acts. International acts have headlined alongside Durban favourites like Bhöra and Grynd Rod Muse. Burn runs annual Battle of the Band and Battle of the Cover Band competitions, and hosts a number of decadent themed parties catering to the punk, goth, and heavy metal communities. Damn the man? rock on. Car guards are on duty.
