Avril Lavigne sang about a skater boy, but it's the surfers who have control of the Wavehouse at Gateway. By day, it's got a bungee jump and the best two-inch-deep surfing you've ever experienced, and Kauai serves up healthy and delicious smoothies, sandwiches and wraps to enjoy on the wraparound balcony overlooking the "waves". By night, surfboards are put away and revelers come to Umhlanga from far and wide to wet their insides at the bars and hear top international and SA bands like Seether, The Parlotones, and Goldfish.
